Please read through the information below before registering as new information and changes have been posted for this season.
We are seeking volunteer coaches preferably parents or matured siblings, we will base the number of teams on the number of coaches have applied. We offer coaching clinics, tools and mentoring program. Coaches will receive help from experienced high school volunteers to run practices, etc. To apply for volunteer coach please click here.
Note: If your son is planning to try-out for REP competitive program, we suggest that you wait until you received the try-out result prior to registering in house league. The house league assessment sessions are scheduled one week after the rep final try-outs so you have plenty of time to decide as to which program is right for your son.

Skill Level Assessment Sessions
This is the first phase of this program, during these sessions, the participants basketball skills and knowledge are being assessed and evaluated by the coaches.
The objective is to create balance teams and promote parity among teams so that each player and spectator enjoys a competitive season. Coaches will have an opportunity to observe and evaluate the skill level of each player.
Areas of evaluation include, but not limited to: knowledge of the rules, ball handling, passing, shooting and athleticism.
These sessions are not try-outs, we assess the players in house league so coaches will have an idea as to what skill level the players are in, this process helps the coaches to build “balance” house league teams. Every player who registered in the house league program will be drafted to a team.
Players must attend the scheduled assessment sessions (details below) for their appropriate age group/division to be considered for team placements.
Each registered players will receive a talent ID prior to the start of assessment session.
Wear proper training attire and basketball shoes – no jeans – skateboarding or casual shoes are not permitted. Do not bring basketball.
Parents are not permitted in the gym during the assessment sessions as spectators can cause a big distraction to both our players and coaches. This will help facilitate the assessment process efficiently.
Skill Level Assessment Dates:
An email notification will be sent to each parents confirming their child’s assessment dates and time. Assessments will be conducted during months of September and October. Each player will receive minimum of (2) assessment sessions which are included in the fees.
Milton Velodrome – 2015 PanAm Boulevard, Milton
After the skill level assessment sessions have been completed, coaches will select their players by means of fair draft, number of teams will depend on the total number of registered players. Maximum of 12 players, minimum of 10.
The draft is held on the “DRAFT DAY”, each coach will draw numbers from a hat to determine the order in which they shall select. The draft is held in rounds that reverse order upon completion of each round. In case of sibling, parents are advised to notify the coaches if they intend to have their sibling on the same team.
Team names are pre-determined by the league.

Milton Velodrome – 2015 PanAm Boulevard, Milton
There is practice time available for each team – once a week for 90 minutes. Practices are every Tuesday or Wednesday nights – depending on the gym availability.

Practice day, time and location will be provided to the parents and players at the end of the draft day.
A set of uniforms and warm-up t-shirts are included in the program fee, they will be distributed to the players one week before the firs scheduled game.
Ontario Youth Basketball League (OYBL)
The OYBL D-League program is an add-on feature for Milton Stags house league program. House league teams will play minimum of one game in OYBL against team/s from other towns or cities. OYBL game venue is a short travel outside Milton (for example school gym in Mississauga or Brampton). The cost to play a game/s in OYBL is included in the registration fee. OYBL game/s schedule and venue will be posted here along with regular Stags house league games schedule.
OYBL D-League exposes players to a competitive, but friendly environment, while also offering opportunities to train and excel to a higher level. OYBL is not a rep program nor considered a travel team league. Players in PRO division will not be participating in OYBL.
Players will be selected to represent Milton Stags in OYBL play-offs.
League Games and Team Standings:
Games are always on Sundays between 10am and 5pm.
OYBL D-League games are either on Saturdays or Sundays.
Games schedule will be posted here and team standings will be updated regularly.
$389.00 each player
Program runs from September to March, each player will receive (1) set of team uniforms (jersey and shorts), (1) warm ups, (1) regulated size basketball, team practices for the entire season, organized league games (including OYBL game/s) officiated by professional referees and championship medals.
EQUAL PLAYING TIME
Each player will have the opportunity to have equal playing time, to be engaged in the basketball action, and to try different playing positions.

RULES and REGULATIONS
Parents may opt to withdraw their child 14 days prior to the start date of the program and receive the amount paid less $100 (non-refundable administrative operation fee). No credit will be issued if withdrawal request was made less than 14 days prior to first scheduled assessment date or if the program has already started. Notification of withdrawal from the program is to be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org .
No refund or credit is issued for missed practices, cancellations due to inclement weather or school board cancellations.
